Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and finalize financial audits in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and relevant regulations.
• Assess internal control systems and identify control weaknesses and potential risks.
• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to verify financial data accuracy.
• Develop detailed audit programs and work papers, ensuring clear documentation and support.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations effective to clients and internal management.
• Manage audit engagements, including client liaison, team supervision, and deadline adherence.
• Stay current with changes in auditing standards, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the audit function and for clients.
• Prepare comprehensive audit reports, summarizing findings and outlining proposed solutions.
• Mentor and train junior audit staff, contributing to their professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• A professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in external auditing.
• Proven experience and comfort working in a fully remote, asynchronous work environment.
• In-depth knowledge of ISAs, IFRS, and South African corporate laws.
• Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CaseWare, ACL) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet strict deadlines independently.
• A reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment are essential.
